Hi, I’m Lilly

NATUROPATH / WOMEN'S HEALTH / hiker / CERAMICIST /

I'm a degree-qualified naturopath and the founder of Starr Naturopathy: a practice built on the belief that your body is not broken. It is responsive. And every symptom is asking for understanding, not suppression.

Starr Naturopathy exists as a place to come home to yourself. A space where you feel held, supported, and nurtured on your natural path back to health, where mind, body, and heart are supported together, and care is never rushed or one-size-fits-all.

I came to this work the way many women find their way here, through my own experience of living in a body that felt unsettled. Hormonal shifts, digestive discomfort, a nervous system worn thin. I know what it is to have symptoms that don't fit neatly into a diagnosis, and to want more than management.

What naturopathic care gave me was not a quick fix. It was a way of understanding my body its rhythms, its signals, its intelligence. That shift changed everything. And it is the same shift I now walk alongside my clients through, one consultation at a time.

I work with women in-person in Brisbane and via telehealth across Australia.

YOUR BODY HAS NEVER BEEN THE PROBLEM. IT HAS BEEN ASKING TO COME HOME.

My Philosophy

True health honours mind, body, and heart together. I don't treat symptoms in isolation, I look at the whole person, because lasting wellbeing comes from balance, self-awareness, and care that is genuinely steady.

Every protocol I build is shaped by your individual picture. Your cycle, your nervous system, your gut, your story. Together, we move toward a way of living in your body that feels grounded, clear, and finally, like yours.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Yes — and this is one of the most common reasons women come to see me. The pill suppresses symptoms rather than addressing the underlying mechanisms driving your PCOS, which is why so many women find that nothing has actually changed when they come off it.

PCOS is not a single condition — it is a cluster of hormonal, metabolic, and inflammatory patterns that look different in every person. For some women, insulin resistance is the central driver. For others, it is elevated androgens, chronic stress disrupting the HPA axis, or gut dysbiosis affecting how oestrogen is processed and cleared. For many, it is a combination.

Naturopathic care works by identifying which mechanisms are most active in your presentation, then supporting those systems directly — through targeted nutrition, herbal medicine, and lifestyle medicine your body can actually work with. This is not about symptom management. It is about creating the internal conditions where your hormones can regulate themselves.

If you are ready to understand what is actually driving your PCOS, I would love to talk. Book a free discovery call and we can work out whether naturopathic support is the right next step for you.

  • A naturopath works with your hormonal health by looking at the whole system that produces, regulates, and clears your hormones — not just the hormones themselves in isolation.

In practice, that means looking at how your stress response system is functioning, because cortisol is one of the most powerful disruptors of oestrogen, progesterone, and thyroid hormone. It means looking at your gut, because the microbiome plays a direct role in how oestrogen is metabolised. And it means looking at your nutrient status — particularly magnesium, zinc, B6, and iodine — because these are the raw materials your body needs to balance hormones.

Where appropriate, I use functional testing — a DUTCH hormone panel, comprehensive stool testing, or targeted pathology — to get a clearer picture rather than guessing.

Treatment is specific to your pattern. Herbal medicine, nutritional supplementation, dietary and lifestyle medicine. Nothing generic. Nothing that ignores the rest of you.

  • Yes — and I take this question seriously, because I know it matters.

The naturopathic profession draws on evidence across nutritional medicine, herbal pharmacology, functional testing, and systems biology. Many of the interventions I use have a meaningful evidence base in peer-reviewed research. I hold a Bachelor of Health Science in Naturopathy from Torrens University Australia, and my clinical practice integrates current evidence with detailed individual assessment — because evidence tells us what works on average, and good clinical reasoning tells us what is likely to work for you.

I am also honest about what naturopathy cannot do. I work collaboratively with GPs and specialists, I do not replace medical care, and if I see something that needs a referral, I will say so.

Every recommendation I make has a rationale. You will leave every appointment understanding your own body a little better.

  • Yes. I offer telehealth consultations across Australia, and for many of my clients it has become their preferred way to access care.

Online consultations are conducted via a secure video platform and work just as well as in-person for the vast majority of what I do — detailed case-taking, reviewing pathology and functional test results, building and adjusting your treatment plan. If functional testing is needed, I can arrange this through mobile phlebotomy or via your GP.

I work with women across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, and beyond. Location is not a barrier. Good care should be accessible wherever you are.

Book a telehealth consultation directly through my online booking system, or start with a free 15-minute discovery call if you would like to talk it through first.

  • Your first appointment is long — and intentionally so. I want to understand not just your symptoms but the full picture of your health, your history, your life.

We will go through everything that has brought you here: your current concerns, medical history, menstrual and hormonal history, gut, sleep, stress, energy, and relationship with food. I will also review any existing pathology and discuss whether additional testing would help.

By the end of the session, you will have a clear sense of what I am seeing in your case — the patterns, the likely drivers, and where I think we can make the most difference. You will leave with a written plan. Nothing unexplained.

Initial consultations are typically 60 to 75 minutes. Follow-up appointments are 30 to 45 minutes. If you are feeling nervous about starting — that feeling is worth paying attention to. It often means you are ready.
