Specific Disclaimer for Naturopath Appointments and Treatments

I am a Qualified Naturopath and Clinical Herbalist. My appointments include a thorough case taking with questions, physical examinations including nail and tongue analysis, general and functional pathology, and referrals if required. Treatment is different for each client and generally involves one or more of herbal medicine, nutritional medicine, diet and lifestyle alterations, and creams. 

 

Qualifications 

I have a Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy) and am a member of Naturopaths and Herbalists Association of Australia. This gives me the right to practise naturopathic and herbal medicine in Australia. 

 

Your Responsibilities

I need to find out as much information about your current health and health history during an appointment to provide safe and effective treatment for you. Please note that everything discussed is confidential and I will need to ask a lot of personal questions relating to symptoms, diagnoses, mental health, and family history.

You will also need to disclose to me what medications, supplements and herbal medicines you are taking, including hormonal contraception. I also need to know if you stop, start or change any pharmaceutical medications during the course of our treatment. This helps me to avoid any potential herb-drug or nutrient-drug interactions in your treatment. 

I need to know about any allergies you may have, any current or past medical issues, if you are pregnant or become pregnant during treatment, or if any new issues arise in between appointments. 

If any symptoms worsen or you experience unwanted side-effects to herbs, nutrients, diet, or lifestyle prescriptions you need to let me know immediately via text or email. Reactions may indicate intolerance or allergy to a herb and we will need to alter treatment accordingly. 

Do not take any other herbs or supplements during the course of treatment without checking with me first. This reduces the risk of potential interactions and taking too much of a particular herb or nutrient. 

I do my best to provide you written instructions for your treatment but I also provide a lot of education during appointments. If you forget any important information you can contact me for more detailed information. 

Understand that I am not a medical practitioner and legally cannot diagnose or cure any medical condition or illness. I can not guarantee successful results even if I have had success with other clients. 

 

Safety

Herbs and Natural medicines have the potential to be dangerous if used incorrectly. Herbs and nutrients all have safe therapeutic ranges based on traditional and scientific evidence which need to be adhered to. Please only take prescribed herbs and supplements in the dosage prescribed to you. Do not give anyone else your prescribed products as they might not be safe for everyone.

I may refer you to a GP, dietitian, or therapist for extra support. It is important that you follow this recommendation for the best and most safe treatment. 

 

Important Information

I do not guarantee results or improvements in any condition, disease, or symptoms. If you commence treatment with me, you agree to take any herbal medicine, nutritional supplements, probiotics at your own risk. Each client responds differently to natural medicine and there is a chance you may have a reaction or not see any benefit. I am not held responsible for worsening health conditions or symptoms after commencing treatment provided by me. Contact me immediately if symptoms worsen. 

 

Payment Terms

Forms of Payment

When booking an appointment through Halaxy you will be asked to provide your card details. I will only process payments for appointments and prescriptions after the appointment. Payments will be processed via Square for in-person appointments and via Halaxy for online appointments. 

Herbal medicine and supplements are provided at an additional cost. 

Supplements will be prescribed on an online dispensary Vital.ly where you will pay for your supplements there.

Postage and Delivery 

Shipping for personalised herbal medicine, teas and creams made for you during an appointment will be free of charge. 

If you require a prescription refill only, you will be charged for shipping. I offer Local Pickup from the clinic on Wednesdays and Thursdays, Local Delivery between Coffs Harbour and Corindi Beach for $8, and Shipping via Australia Post for $15. Please allow 4 days for me to get this posted to you. 

If you order supplements prescribed to you on vital.ly the postage cost will be determined through them. Please refer to delivery terms and prices at www.vital.ly.  

 

Appointments

You will first have an Initial Appointment which goes for 60-75 minutes where I will ask you a lot of questions about your health, diet, and lifestyle to get a good idea of your health. We will discuss your health goals and what you want to achieve from naturopathic treatment. Return and review appointments will be booked after the initial appointment as required. 

In-Person Appointment 

Available in Coffs Harbour, NSW at HTC Wellness Studio, 35 Orlando St, Coffs Harbour, NSW. 

Online Appointment

Available Australia-Wide and are done via Healthdirect (Harbour Therapy Clinic). You will receive a link to the appointment via email. Please allow 5-10 minutes before your online appointment to ensure internet, sound and camera are working properly. Ensure you are in a quiet and comfortable place when doing an online appointment. Remember that personal and sensitive information will be discussed. 

 

Cancellation Policy 

If your appointment is cancelled 24 hours before the start time 50% of the appointment fee will be charged (unless acceptable reason). If no attendance to an appointment without communication the full fee will be charged. 

 

Returns Policy

I do not offer a refund for change or mind for services or products including herbal medicine, tea, creams, nutritional supplements, or probiotics.

If I have made up your individualised prescription you will be charged.  

 

Consumer Guarantees

Prescription Damages

If your prescription is damaged during shipping please contact me immediately and send photo evidence. I will replace this with no extra cost. 

If you drop or break any herbal prescriptions I can replace this at full price plus shipping costs.

 

Unable to Attend Appointment

If for some reason I can not make the appointment I will contact you as soon as possible and reschedule the time. 

 

Internet Issues

If there are issues with internet connectivity during an online appointment I will call you via phone to continue the appointment.

 

Allergic Reactions

If you have a reaction to taking a herb or nutrient I have prescribed, stop taking immediately and seek medical advice if required. Contact me immediately.

 

​Product Recall

If a herb or product is recalled for any reason, I will contact you to stop consumption of the product immediately. You will have a new prescription issued for you.
